MY JOURNEY
I approach my work with a deep respect for every story.
Life has been interesting so far! My own journey has included ups, downs and everything in between. Curiosity drives me… often to places I wouldn’t have dreamed of going!
There are many valuable things I’ve learned along the way. Perhaps the most important thing I’ve learned is that positive change is possible… anytime.
PROFESSIONAL PATH
Taught and mentored by amazing people.
I have been trained and mentored by some fabulous teachers and I thank them for providing me with my skills in:
- Transactional Analysis
- Cognitive-behavioural Therapy
- Interpersonal Neurobiology
- Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP)
- Trauma Release
- Affect Regulation Therapy
- Vipassana Meditation
- Horticulture Therapy

I use a psychodynamic approach, which means that I take into account past and present, with the aim of working toward more awareness, new understanding, improved skills, and a healthier future. My work is trauma-informed – therefore very safe.
My aim is always to be friendly and to offer a comfortable & supportive therapeutic environment. A safe container – an honest and reliable relationship – is key. As is a sense of humor at times!
Some of my work is with people who are highly sensitive, curious, creative, quirky and ‘slightly unusual’. I have particular interest and expertise in working with ADHD, giftedness, ASD and other ‘exceptionalities’.
TESTIMONIALS
The first thing I really remember hearing from Maggie was “You are not a problem to be fixed”. I couldn’t believe a therapist was saying that. I’d had every diagnosis you can think of… I’m slowly beginning to understand what she meant.
W. B.— NEW ZEALAND
I’ve always understood myself to be depressed and anxious. Maybe I was. But mainly I realize now that I am often bored! My interests have been a bit unusual (according to my family) and I’ve tried to ‘fit’. Unsuccessfully. Maggie saw some of the things I do on the computer and called me an artist. I hadn’t thought of that!
G.M. AUSTRALIA
Maggie has a way about her that makes me feel safe, secure, and cocooned in reassurance. In just a year I came to understand the intensity of my emotions, and learn ways to soothe my nervous system that tries to run on high octane 24/7.
F.B. USA
No single trauma stands out. But I’ve learned from therapy with Dr. Brown that trauma can be cumulative. Constand relational misses and ‘ouches’. The Affect Regulation work has helped me so much!
